Spence undertook the refurbishment of 75,000 sq ft of occupied office space for the end user, Network Rail.

The works were completed on time and to Network Rail’s corporate DNA standard.

Day 2 works proceeded the initial works and Spence completed a number of office churns for the client.

‘Spence’s commitment in dealing with what was deemed a fairly complex project from the outset with regards to stakeholder management, site logistics and fast track programme, ensured the refurbishment has been delivered efficiently and deemed a success.’

Liam M O’Dell, Network Rail

Our works included the refurbishment of 500 fan coil units and the installation of supplementary AC to 5 new communications rooms throughout the space. The existing mechanical and electrical fittings were also retained and serviced and new feature lighting was installed to the meeting rooms, kitchens, locker rooms and ancillary areas, including a new control system and DALI dimming.

Bespoke joinery was installed to kitchens, meeting rooms and break out areas, including the installation of brand new storage units. CGA also incorporated the furniture installation within each of the 4 week programme phases. Other finishes included new floors, decorations and feature walls. The existing SAS ceiling was retained but fully cleaned, including safely removing all asbestos within the building and fire barriers reinstated as required. New glazed partitions and acoustic drywall dividers were installed throughout in order to create various spaces i.e. meeting rooms, kitchens, and staff areas. The toilets and core areas were also refreshed with new lighting, laminate panels and Mitsubishi air blade hand dryers. The existing finishes and fittings were recycled where possible, including the carpet which we returned to interface as part of their renew programme.
