Spence have undertaken the design, reconfiguration and refurbishment of the ladies, gents and disabled toilets on Platform 2 at Tottenham Hale Station.
This was a flagship project for both Spence and Greater Anglia. It incorporates the Greater Anglia corporate colour scheme and specifications which has determined the way forward for all future developments/refurbishments.
After the initial survey and award of contract it was decided that a traditional design and build scaffold would be required to gain access to restore all external facades.
Scaffold was erected out of hours due to public highways restrictions, after which a complex programme detailing the refurbishment was initiated.
Following meetings with the client and station staff it was agreed that the installation of a temporary toilet block was required to maintain the required facilities for the travelling public.
The installation of a temporary disabled toilet was also undertaken to comply with the disability discrimination act.
The temporary toilet block and disabled toilet were sited in an agreed position and connected to localised utilities for the duration of the project.
