Spence have been successful in our bid for £3.6m of works at Piccadilly Line Control Centre with our new client TFL.

The scope of works includes the strengthening and fit out of the existing building, including the provision of MEP services, fire suppression and security systems.

The control room is an existing three storey building which will need a high end refurbishment to create a new modernised Technical Control Centre. The project will include the strengthening of the building which will be achieved through the installation of steel beams, columns, reinforcement of internal brickwork and the installation of high security state of the art doors and windows. Spence will also undertake a high specification refurbishment of the security control room, office and surrounding welfare facilities. These facilities will be accessed via a new lift which has increased capacity and speed.

Works have already started on site and are expected to run until October.
