Spence undertook the redevelopment of Maryland Station as part of the London Olympic refurbishment.

Works included the removal and replacement of the station canopy with the aim of the project to regenerate Maryland Station in time for the London 2012 Olympics.

Works included the removal of existing station canopy sheeting and replacement with Kingspan sheeting, redecoration of all existing steel framework and facia to incorporate new Greater Anglia corporate branding. Spence also replaced and repointed all defective precast copers, installed roof restraints, providing a safer system of works to facilitate the future maintenance of the station and deep cleaned all platform surfaces and walls.

The majority of the works were carried out during the first 92 hour Easter possession to the clients’ satisfaction, with only remedial items finished off during the later possessions.

Maryland Station now stands as a flagship project within the Greater Anglia region, setting the standards for the on-going success of the franchise.
