Station Improvement
Programme
All in efforts to provide a better station experience for passengers, which we are proud to say has already been a success across the completed areas of the project! Deadlines and Milestones have been reached consistently throughout, due to the hard work and dedication of the team.
The works consist of an increased pedestrian capacity by adding more ticket gates and barriers, relocation of retail units within the station, and relocation of a reconfigured entrance for the Greater Anglia ticket office.
Mark Reed the Project Manager for these improvements, is extremely proud of what this project has and will continue to achieve. One of the main challenges he faced, was trying not to disturb the everyday running of the stations or disruptions to passengers’ journeys. However, Mark and the team are pleased to share they’ve successfully managed to achieve minimal disruption whatsoever, by taking steps like utilising the Christmas shutdown period to erase CNE. The consideration to spend quiet periods wisely, was a smart move from the team to keep processes as discreet as possible for passengers. We look forward to sharing what else they’ve achieved upon project completion.
Jonathan Fernandez from Network Rail has expressed his sincere gratitude to the team for stepping up to the challenge and achieving a ‘truly commendable outcome!’, despite any challenges along the way.
Exciting times ahead for Liverpool Street station!
